The famous Algerian Imam Ezzine has sparked widespread debate on social media with his statement regarding the necessity to refrain from marrying off daughters to those who do not have a home or job. Imam Moussa Ezzine stated during one of his lectures in the province of Blida, Algeria, emphasizing that it is not permissible to marry off your daughter to a young man who does not have housing, saying: "Do not marry your daughters to those who do not have a residence... Do not give my daughter to someone without housing."
In his statements, the Imam pointed out that those who do not work or do not have housing should not be married to your daughter, and he supported this with the words of scholars on this matter. This statement received appreciation from some people who believe that the accumulation of problems could arise from the coexistence of the husband with his family.
On the other hand, others opposed this opinion, where one of them pointed out that many Algerians marry and live with their families in the homes of their families, and if this trend were to be followed, they would not find partners for marriage. They also criticized the latest development of this opinion, as it raised questions regarding the situation of couples who lost their housing after marriage.
The Imam responded to the criticisms he faced regarding his statement, clarifying that any interpretation attributed to him could cause negative effects, stressing the importance of understanding the context of the statement. He noted that the background of those words involved a discussion within the framework of dialogue about marital life problems and supporting the poor in society.
